My Great Grandfather, Frank (Franz) Sysol, came over on the ship the PENNSYLVANIA From Jorskowiza on August 12, 1903. he was 22 years old and listed as of Austrian/Polish Descent. His wife was Antoinette Kwiej, i am still trying to locate her ship. She had a brother Joseph and a sister Rose Nicolek(sp?)of Youngstown Ohio. I have found all of my grandmother's brothers Adam, Casimer, Harry, Henry, Rudolph, Chester and of course my Grandmother, Mary Sysol Kesner. I also learned that my father's cousin, Hank Sysol Jr, whom i had been in touch with over the past few years, recently passed away.I know that he had 3 children, Kim, Lynn and Brad. My Aunt Marylou, (Mary's daughter) told me my father Matthew S Kesner III attended his funeral. I also found out that my grandmother was Catholic and that her infant daughter Sally Jane Kesner is buried in St Hyacinth's Cemetery in Dunkirk, along with some of her brothers and parents.
On the maternal Side, i was fortunate enough to have an aunt who did all of the legwork and has traced the Hoyt's/haight's back to the Quaker's. The Chapman's and Aldrich's were from Massachusetts. Still much more research to do for the Gibbon's side of the family.
