Research began in 1987 with a shoebox full of what looked like old junk. Lena Maria Doll Kinat had passed away and left this, what turned out to be treasure, shoebox in her china cabinet. This box had pictures of her aunts and uncles located in Sand, Germany and her parents marriage certificate, her father's naturalization paper, her husband's, Louis Alex Kinat,naturalization paper and her grandfather's, Fredrich Doll III, last will and testament (written in old German) and insurance papers dating back to 1899 for her father's, Fred Doll, bakery business.
This turned out to be the start of the hunt for my ancesters.
