I have resently started gathering my family history. I thought it might be a good idea to share what I have found and what I find in the future. I started my tree with myself and I am trying to gather more information on my ancestery to place it for your viewing. I know that my grandfather and grandmother were both living in Tickfaw, Louisiana when my father was born. Also from what I have gathered so far my ancesters immigrated here and carried the last name of "Solar"(not sure of the spelling) upon arrivial and somewhere down the line one of them whose name was John Louis Solar decided it was better if he dropped the "Solar" name and he carried on as John Louis. Somewhere down the line someone else decided that the "Louis" spelling was for middle names and some of them started carrying on as "Lewis". So basically we have family carrying three surnames and it makes it confusing but I'm trying to do my best to make a track for you all to following.
