This is an unusual name but now that more people are using email we are starting to see more of the German side of the family.

Some say that Lievertz is a derivation of LiebHertz sp. or "Strong Heart"

I see that in New York city there is a Leffert Blvd and often wonder if a Lievertz came thru Ellis Island and was given a new spelling. There is also the Sievert and Liebert names but I do not know if they are variations or not.

Any one with more information is welcome to contact me.

I did have a chance to be in Salt Lake one time and did see some of the Lievertz in the Mormon library that I also knew about from my tree. They do not have all of the names that I do and I would like to find a way to add them.
