GREETINGS ALL AND WELCOME!

From Detroit to Houston, from Anniston, Alabama to Teaneck, New Jersey/New York, Chicago, Illnois and Boston, Mass to Broken Bow, Oklahoma, We're all connected!

This is a site that hopefully as families and individuals we can come together to review and add to my limited data. But most of all its a place to;
* Say "Hello" across the miles and cyberspace
* Learn a bit about each other
* Explore the joys and trials that have brought us to where we are
* Dream together about where we want to be
* Share some 'tall tales' and family stories
* Network our skills, resources and ideas
* Exchange photos to recipes... and...
Generally laugh, listen, learn and love each other!!

So c'mon..it doesn't matter whether you're a Lilly, Boyce, Johns, Weaver, Thomas, Matthews and on and on... If you don't see information about you or others in your line it’s because I have not been successful gaining that information. If you can 'fill in the gaps' please do! Send me updated information, preferably in Word, your photos/.jpgs, any family tree or other documents that I can add to the database.

I hope to update every month as members send items in. Hopefully this will allow for a more robust and representative database that we can share at the 2009 Boyce Reunion!
Got the idea???....Don't just look!

IT'S A FAMILY AFFAIR!

A Note about the Website Name
I've used the word SANKOFA to symbolize the importance of learning from the past. Sankofa is an Akan word, from Ghana, that essentially means, "We must go back and reclaim our past so we can move forward; so we understand why and how we came to be who we are today."
It is also the name of the internationally acclaimed film Sankofa, by Haile Gerima and Shirikiana Germina. They're not only talented filmakers, they are our extended family in Washington DC. Pops was the still photographer for the film, on-location in Ghana. Additionally, Leon and I are the proud God-parents of the youngest treasure in the "DC Tribe"...Enanu.
