Family Photos
  • Eugene marries Daisy Ash (33 KB)
Eugene Milton Lisansky and Margaret Converse Ash were married October 19, 1996 at the Shenorock Shore Club in Rye, New York. The wedding was distinguished by a nor'easter (hurricane) which forced the evacuation of all the guests.
  • Four Grandparents of Eugene Lisansky (60 KB)
Pictured in this 1947 photo are (l-r): maternal grandfather Barnet Silberglied (sic), paternal grandmother Anna (Gail) Lisansky, maternal grandmother Dorothy (Resnick) Silverglied, and paternal grandfather Samuel Lisansky. This picture was taken near my parents house at 30 Howe Street in New Haven Connecticut.
  • The Lisansky children (46 KB)
A rare group photo of Judith (then 35), Stephen (38) and Eugene (31), taken at Detroit's Metro Airport, around 1985. Someone jokingly suggested the title for the picture is "Guess which one owns the BMW?"
  • Eugene's paternal grandparents (47 KB)
Nani and Zaydi to me, this is Anna (Gail) Lisansky and Samuel Lisansky around 1963. They are sitting on a bench by the swimming hole at a place called Menungatuck (I think), which may have been a bungalow colony in the "borscht belt" area of New York State.
  • Maternal Grandparents and Family (76 KB)
Around 1949, from left: my first cousin Ruth Asch, grandmother Dorothy Silverglied, uncle Larry Silverglied, grandfather Barnet Silberglied (sic); front: mother Edith Silverglied Lisansky Gomberg, holding my brother Stephen Gail Lisansky. This picture was taken outside my parents house in North Haven Connecticut.
  • Lisansky/Gail descendants- 1970 (127 KB)
(left to right) Beverly Segal, Oscar Bromberg (partially hidden), Leon Lisansky, Bernice Levitt, (unknown) Levitt, Rhoda Salz, Michel Lissansky, Ted Salz (partially hidden), Raika Lipshitz, Shaye Lipshitz. Richard Salz, Eugene Lisansky (tongue out), Don Salz, Judith Lisansky, Susan (now Sophie) Lisansky.
  • My Father At Age 5 (66 KB)
My father grew up in various boroughs of New York City, and is pictured here standing in front of an apartment building at 982 East 165th Street in the Bronx. The picture was taken around 1923, when he was five years old.
  • Maternal Great Grandparents & Children (55 KB)
Taken in Sedlice Poland in 1894, this photo shows my grandfather with his parents and brothers. From left to right: great-grandfather Label (Leonard) Silberglied, granduncle Max, granduncle Abe, great-grandmother Rose, holding my grandfather Barnet Silberglied (later spelled "Silverglied").
  • My Mother at Age 11 (92 KB)
Edith Silverglied in 1931. This was taken in Brooklyn New York, upon her graduation from 8th Grade. She went on to graduate from high school at age 14.
