In the 1900 Cook County, IL census, Caroline is shown living with her daughter Florence and her husband Albert Jacobs. Caroline's son and Florence's brother Charles is also living with the Jacobs.

She also states that she immigrated in 1873. Earlier conjecture places her immigration between Feb 1870 and May 1872 (Florence's birth date in Canada and the latest possible date for Hanje's birth in Massachusetts). Caroline's son Charles is listed as having been naturalized by the 1900 census. These documents may have a more accurate date.

Marriage date only a guess based on oldest child's birth year.

In the 1900 Cook County, IL census Caroline lists herself as a widow and the number of years for her marriage as "45". Had Joseph only recently died, was she counting years after his death, or is the marriage year off? It should be around 1854 or she would have been married before she was 20.
