Notes for Henry de Bohun: from "Virginia Cousins," p. 461
... "created Earl of Hereford by King John April 28, 1199, died 1220. He took part with the Barons against King John, and had his lands sequestered, but they were returned at the signing of the Magna Charta at Runnimede, the Earl being one of the twenty-five Lords appointed then to enforce the observance of that celebrated charter. He was subsequently excommunicated by the Pope, and became a prisoner at the battle of Lincoln."
