In June 2001, I requested a copy of Cora's birth certificate from Hamilton County, OH. I used the date 21 Jul 1876 from Cora's death certificate. The 1910 census lists Jul 1878 as Cora's birth date. Perhaps another search should be done to try and find her birth certificate.
In the 1910 Cook County, IL census, Cora stated that she had had four children, only one of which was still alive.
Cora was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America
quote: "Don't take yourself too seriously; nobody else does."
Cora's death certificate lists her as a widow but we know that George had left earlier and was remarried. Cora always considered herself a widow. Further research needs to be done to try and locate divorce documents if they exist.

Marriage Notes for Cora Alma Gardner and George Barnett McKillip: According to divorce proceedings, George abandoned Cora and Glenn around 12 Oct 1913. He had left before but Cora "always took him back". Apparently George gambled and couldn't support Cora and Glenn. Cora was forced to work in order to support the family.
In sworn evidence during the divorce proceedings, Cora stated ...
Q Any children? A Three dead Q Any living? A No. Q You have a boy by this marriage? A Yes Q How old is the boy? A Fifteen The Court: You say there is one child? A Yes
The interesting part of this exchange is that Glenn was born in 1900. According to other information in the divorce file, George and Cora where married in 1902. There has never been any thought that Glenn was not the son of George but would this explain Cora's responses?
