| Presently researching my Lockett name, I have found Lockett families in Virginia including the Thomas I - Thomas II - Thomas III Lockett line which may contain my ancestors. As yet, a link has not been established between this Lockett family and my great-grandfather Abraham or his father Benjamin. Abraham and Benjamin are both found in Hot Spring, Co., Arkansas in 1850 and Benjamin is believed to have come from Rockingham or Augusta County, Virginia (b. 1770). My aunt and cousin have also drawn upon earlier genealogy work to document my paternal grandmother's Patty and Carlock families. My paternal grandparents are Walter Melancthon Lockett and Susan Alberta Ivins Patty and I have information on the descendants of Benjamin Lockett (b. 1770), James Paty [Patty] (b. 1705), and David Carlock (b. 1679). My family tree also includes family members from the lines of Hoyl (Heyl), Costner (Kastner), Peeler, Owen and West.
