The Cemetery has been awarded a Certificate of Historical Significance by the Board of Trustees of the Mississippi Department of Archives and History on October 19, 2001.
"Burford Cemetery was approved for The State Historical Marker."

I am researching Thomas Jefferson Loftiss,born March 27,1825 and died around 1906.
He married Vesta Ann Cartwright on October 10,1851
in the town of Memphis, Scotland County, Missouri.
In Addition to the Loftiss Family:
I am also researching James Maston Arnold,born August 1839
in Mississippi.
James died June 17,1927 at Batesville,Panola County,
Mississippi.
He married Frances Mahala Key June 11,1867
in Carroll County, Mississippi.
Mahala Key Arnold died May 19,1935 in Panola County.
