About Our Family Research

This is the Family History of Steve & Jodie Logan Family Of New London,OH.

The Logan Family came from Ireland,Galway 1870
settling in Wakeman, Ohio.
Matthew Logan returned to Ireland, and died there.
Leaving his family in Wakeman, Ohio.
Martin & Sophia Logan raised the largest family in Huron Co. History,having 18 children, two of which died in infancy.

The Daniels Family came from Lima,NY in early 1840,finally
settling in the Berlin Heights, Ceylon, Star Island areas
of Ohio.
Elias Daniels and Wife Catherine Mariana Hardy, are buried
in the Beriln Heights, OH Baptist Cemetary behind the
old mill with sons John & Chester,
In Peaks Cemetary Susan (Aunt/GreatGreatGrandmother.
Martin, Ashbil Families are buried.

Ashbil Daniels was raised by Catherine M. Hardy Daniels,
He was born Eleven years after the death of Elias.
There is some family gossip that he is the child of Susan.
In the 1900 census Catherine names Ashbil as Grandson,
and John as Great Grandson, Elizabeth as Granddaughter In-law.
Earlier census records, claim Ashbil as Catherine's son.

The Rickard Family are recently new to Erie,County, in the late 1800's, Charles Irving Rickard, was son of Albert Rickard. His wife Florence Leib,came from Germany with her Father Adam Leib and Uncle Joseph Leib.Adam & Joseph were Ice Cutters and owned Ice business in Sandusky, Harvesting Ice on Sandusky Bay.

The Holeton Family are from Cherry Valley Ohio, Benjamin Arthur Holeton,married Beulah V. McKeel of New Bern, NC. Benjamin died in a railroad accident, leaving Beulah to raise many children alone, All children were taken to Children's home and Adopted to other families. Beulah was sent to prison, during 1920's for making and selling alcohol.
The children all reunited with each other, and their mother,as adults.. Son Frank Holeton,was killed at Guada Canal, during WWII.
