Ancestors of Benjamin Lomax and family

About Our Family Research

Working on putting up all the data I have gathered in several years of research, including several family bibles and much official documentation. This page will grow as time is found to transcribe the considerable data I have.

Basic sources include McElwee family geneaology courtesy of my great-aunt Violet McElwee, along with "The Harts of Randolph", an extensive geneaology of the Hart family from John Hart, signer of the Declaration of Independence. This is a terrific book with lots of documentation references, of which I will include as many as time permits. This book also links the McElwees back to Charlegmaine and most of royal Europe in the Middle ages.

Beyond that I have a testimonial geneaology for the Lomax line, all references of which have been verified by actual documentation witnessed by me and in possession of my family. This line has stalled at the Atlantic crossing, so any further information is always appreciated.

I will be continuing to update and work on this site as time permits, and I am always available to answer any questions.
