The Odell Williams Sims Family of Greenwood, Florida Updated February 27, 2001
About Our Family Research
I have been researching my family just over a year now. I am running into so many road blocks. I have been able to trace back to 1870. My great-great grandfather was a full-blooded Indian named John Hinson living in the Quincy, Florida area and is buried in Sneads, Florida. His wife's name was Rose. Last name unknown. Rose died in Greenwood, Florida and is buried in Mt. Tabor Church Cemetery. I'm still researching and trying to find more information on my wonderful family.
We have a family reunion every years on the first weekend of July. Odell was the mother of thirteen children. Each year one of her children are the host family for the reunion. Of her deceased children, their offsprings host the reunion. The reunion is a three day event, however, every five years it is extended twoo or three more days.
More information about the reunion will be announced later by the host family. The reunion is held every year in Greenwood, Florida.
