This will be my homepage for genealogy research on the following surnames in our family:

Joe's: Casper, Kingsbury, Lords, Lowder, Messervy, Napier, Packard, Watson.

I will mostly be compiling a history of Israel and Martha Koontz's family.

Israel was born in Pennsylvania in 1817 and married Martha Snyder 1842 in Ohio. They had 8 children all born in Washington county Ohio: Francis, George Washington, Martha, Sarah, Sabra and Persis (twins),Eva and Iva (twins). In 1863 Israel moved to Mahaska county Iowa, Pella and setup as a blacksmith. Martha was born in Switzerland so little is known yet about her family. There is an Isreal Koontz born in1817 in pennsylvania but is a different person that our Israel as his wife is listed as a diehl? and the spelling of his name is off.
