My family research is just beginning. I was an only child from the marriage of my father, Edward Thomas Bryant and my mother, Zelma Blanche Olsen. My father was born in Illinois as was his parents (according to the l930 Federal Census taken in Independence, MO)I was born three years later in l933. As a child, I remember visiting some relatives in Kansas City, Missouri, a cousin, Eileen Boland, and her mother may have been named, Jeannie Boland, Father's name, unknown to my remembrance. My father, Edward, worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 45 years! He was raised by his grandmother, name unknown. I have been looking for John Bryants, born in Illinois. There are many listed, and at that time, by counties or townships. My father, Edward Thomas Bryant, died one day before his birthday, February 21, l951, in an hospital in Topeka, Kansas. I have one living first cousin, Norma Jean Olsen Walters, raised by adoptive parents or guardians, named Walters, living in Leavenworth,Kansas in the l930s. Norma Jean may have the married name of, Pfifer, or a name close to that spelling. My mother, Zelma, and I moved to California after my parents divorced in l941, and I have lived here since l941. I married in l954 in moved to San Diego under the name of Donna J. Lorenz, Spouse, Henry J. Lorenz. We have four children, all living in San Diego, Stephen Edward; Eileen Marie; Shelley Jean; and James Bryan. We now have seven grandchildren.
