Rueban Oliver Rice was born 2/17/1900, in Minot,ND, the eldest son of John Rice and Jennie Spoklie. With his parents, he came to Sheridan County in 1907. He was an active member of St. Johns church and a member of the Westby School Board. On 11/27/27, he married Anna Marie Steinke.

Anna Marie Steinke, was born 10/27/1903 in Alameda, Saskatchewan, Canada. Anna Marie immigrated to US in 1908 with her family.. Rueban and Marie had seven children; Eunice Carol was born 9/4/1928; James Robert was born 12/31/1929; Burton John was born 2/15/1932; Phillip Loren was born 8/22/1934 and died 8/24/1955; Gene Gary was born 2/17/1935; Kurtiss G. was born 1/16/1938; Wanda Lee Mardell was born 2/14/1941.

On 7/26/1955, Rueban suffered a heart attack and passed away. Marie is an active member of th senior citizens and lives in Plentywood.
