Looking for parents and siblings of John R. Lowe b. 1812 according to census records in Randolph Co. N.C. He married Minerva E. Terrell b. 1820. Daughter of John B. and Orpha Worrell Terrell of Jefferson Co. Ga. John and Minerva lived in Jefferson Co. GA until 1850 or 1851 when they move to Cherokee Co. AL where they lived until their deaths. John and Minerva had twelve children when the baby was two weeks old Minerva died of what was said to be a cold contracted during childbirth. After an unknown amount of time John R. married Sophronia Wood of Cherokee Co. AL who was 30 years younger than him. Together John R. and Sophronia had one son. John R. Lowe was referred to as Judge Lowe. According to his obituary he was a Prominent citizen and useful planter, with one of the largest, richest and best cultivated farms on the Coosa River.
