Notes for Shirley Louise Lowry: Shirley was born at Sample Sanitarium on North Fulton St. in Fresno. [ Parents lived in Auberry, in the hills northeast of Fresno. ] She attended: Webster and John Muir Elementary Schools, and Washington Jr. High School in Fresno; Jefferson Grammar School and Clovis Union High School in Clovis, Calif. She enrolled at Fresno State College but dropped out during the fall of 1946 when Joe and Ernestina Harrison were living with her parents after their release from internment by the Japanese during World War II. She was employed at a department store in Fresno and worked as an office and practical nurse for Doctors' offices in Fresno and Clovis. She and her family lived in Clovis, first on a small rural property and then in a rental in town. They moved to Meadow Lakes, above Auberry, and lived in a rental for a number of years, they then either built or bought a new house towards Auberry. She later divorced, remarried and moved to Lompoc where she lived for a number of years until the death of her second husband. She moved back to Fresno and lived with her daughter, and for awhile they both lived with her mother. She moved with her daughter to Stockton. It was while living in Stockton that she was diagnosed as having cancer, from which she died. She was cremated and her ashes were to have been scattered in the vicinity of Meadow Lakes, in Fresno County, California.
