Notes for Mary Lowry: In the 1850 Federal Census of Jefferson Co., Tennessee, Mary Lowry 20, b in NC is enumerated with parents John 46, and Sarah 48, both b in VA; along with Robert 18, Adaline 15, Pinkney 13, and Henry 10, all b in NC. In the 1860 Census James is in Jefferson Co., but John S., Robert, and Pinkney are in Greene Co. David is with Robert. I have not been able to find Mary or Adaline and have assumed that John and Sarah are deceased. In "East Tennessee Marriages" Vol 2, by Sisler, a Mary A Lowry m John N Cooter April 4,1860 [8-9-1860]. This means the actual marriage did not take place until August.
