Notes for Henry Redfield: Henry resided at Rodney, Mississippi, removed thence to Carthage, Louisiana. Married first June 12, 1814 to Meriam or Marion Chappel, b. Sept.12, 1797 in Onandaga, N.Y. She died Mar.1, 1835 and he remarried on Feb. 16, 1836 Julia Ann Elliot Cole, dau. of Wm. and Ruth Elliot. He died Dec. 23, 1844 in his 51st year. ( His brother says that two of Henry's sons were killed in the Mexican War. )
Henry Redfield was enumerated in the Eighth U. S. Census taken in 1840 of the Louisiana Parrish of Concordia. Listed were one male each: Under 5 (James b. 11-16-1838), 5 under 10 (Sidney b. 2-28-1832), 10 under15 (Wm. Wesley b. 3-20-1826), 15 under 20 (Henry b. 9-21-1824), 20 under 30 (Richard Curtis b. 1-3-1820), and 40 under 50 (Henry b. 3-24-1794); two females 10 under 15 (must have been Julia Ann's by marriage with Cole), and one 30 under 40 (Julia Ann b. 3-12-1810).
