Thomas Polk apparently was married to Leticia Williams on May 1, 1828 in Anson County, North Carolina and failed to get a divorce prior to marrying Mary McConnell in Harden County, Tennessee. He was in court in September 1841 on bigamy charges, Tennessee vs Thomas Polk.
At the time of the 1850 census he was living in the household of Franklin Gray.

  1. Nancy Polk, b. Abt. 1835, Hardin County, Tennessee.
  2. Mary J. Polk, b. Abt. 1839, Hardin County, Tennessee.
