The 1880 US Census of Alabama, Perry County, Heards Beat (No 10) lists George W Harrison (35), Married, Farmer, born in Ala, Father born in Tenn, Mother born in Ala; Emily L (24), Wife, Married, Keeping house, born in Ala, Father born in Ala, Mother born in Ala; Ornie S (7), daughter, Single, born in Ala as were parents; Joel Hardy (4), Son, Single, born in Ala as were parents; John Wiley (1), Son, Single, born in Ala as were parents; Rachael Ann (40), Sister, Single, Works on farm, born in Ala, Father born in Tenn, Mother born in Ala. As noted above, Joel B Harrison was shown to be born in North Carolina in the 1860 Census but in the 1880 Census, as father of George Washington Harrison and Rachael Ann Harrison, he was shown to be born in Tennessee; since, supposedly, he was present in 1860, I am using NC as his birthplace. Stoudenmire, "Notary Public and ex officio Justice of Peace" of Perry County, State of Alabama to file an application for pension No 39755 as the Widow of G. W. Harrison, pvt, CO A, 20th REGT., Alabama Infantry. This information was obtained from the Alabama Department of Archives and History in Montgomery, AL. There was not any confirmation that G. W. Harrison had served as stated.
