About Our Family Research

On 27th September 1777, John, James, David and Thomas LOW joined the 26th Regiment of Foot, at Philadelphia.
David was killed in December1777/78.
John was sent to Bermuda in 1779, to join the Royal Garrison Battalion, married Frances ?;John jr and Elinor were born there. In 1783, the family was moved to Canada, probably via New York, and resided at Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The most likely scenario is that these were Americans, loyal to the Crown (King George III),and joined the 26th the day following the British march into Philadelphia.
