My name is Aletha J Lucas Mobley. I am the youngest of fourteen children of Mamie Belle Wheeler and Orie C Lucas. All but one brother were born in Kansas. We moved to Kern Avenue, East Los Angeles California in 1939. We then moved to Montebello, California when I was in first grade. Lived on Maple Avenue in Montebello.
Two eldest brothers, Dick anad Lloyd Lucas were both Air Force Pilot's in the war. One brother, Jack Stephen Lucas was killed in the war at age nineteen. He was aboard the U.S Maryland and it was hit by a kamikaze plane.
My father was a carpenter and my mom was a homemaker. I have six sisters and 5 brothers that are still alive. Mother lost a baby girl at birth. My father's family lived around Danville. Ill. and my mother was raised in Green Castle, Missouri. she was born in July 21, 1900.
