John Luike (or Luik), born 1832, came from Wurttemburg, Germany, at the age of 21. Current research leads me to believe that he came shortly to Philadelphia. Married Mary Rogers of Ireland. Born to them were two children, Marie in 1860, and John in 1870. Marie married Albert Supplee. John married Caroline Leitenberger, daughter of Michael and Elizabeth. John and Caroline had 8 children. They moved to Betterton, Maryland, approximately 1898-1900, where the family has predominantly resided to current day. Today there remain 2 generations of Luike's in Betterton, Maryland. I have yet to come across anyone else searching for the same people.
