Ruben and Martha Lujan of Alhambra, Ca.

Updated September 6, 2001

About Our Family Research

In 1984, we both were fortunate to study at the Pontifical University of Salamanca, Spain where the Rector Magnifico Juan Acebal Lujan (President of the University) showed us how to research our names in their fabulous library. Then we went to El Escorial, the Royal Library of Spain in Madrid and further researched and received our Escudos (Coat of Arms) for both Lujan and Serrano (Martha's maiden name). In 1986, we researched more information at the University of Albuquerque, New Mexico looking for the connections from Mexico to the United States through Texas, New Mexico and California. Last year, 2000, we twice went to places in Mexico where we actually visited some of the sites where our ancestors were born, lived, married and died, tracing those who traveled north to the U.S. We are interested in locating the connections. We have seven children, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Ruben is a retired Rehabilitation Counselor and Martha is an Adjunct Professor at California State University, Los Angeles and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Anyone out there have any information?
