3. LUCINDA3 PARNELL (MOSES2, FRANKLIN1) was born June 02, 1847 in Malcolm (Redbud), Washington County, AL, and died February 11, 1928 in Turnerville, AL. She married JOHN A. LEVI THOMAS October 21, 1865 in McIntosh's Bluff, Washington Co., AL, son of FERDINAND THOMAS and AMELIA PAYNE.

Notes for JOHN A. LEVI THOMAS:
John Levi THOMAS, born 3 Oct. 1831 at Jackson, in Clarke County, AL, first entered the service as Private in June 1861 at Mobile, Alabama in Company "H" Cooper Rifles 22 Alabama Regiment and continued until April 1865, when he was paroled on Gun Boat, Bigbee River. Achieved rank of 2nd Lt.       

After he and Lucinda were married, they lived in Malcolm, Fairford and Hawthorn. He worked with Indians in Mt. Vernon, in and around the jail. Then he was tax collector and assessor of Washington County, until he became unable to work. All of his children were born in Washington County, AL.

In 1907, they moved to Lucedale, MS. Bud got work. John Levi, Lucinda, Bud, Isabel, Ida, Julie and her children then moved to Donavan and Eubanks and Merrill, MS, wherever Bud's work took them.

In 1909, they moved to Gulfport where nephew McCree lived. John Levi died in Mobile during surgery for kidney stones. He was told by the doctors that the surgery was too risky and his chances of survival were slim, but he said that he was in so much pain from the kidney stones, and that he was at peace with the Lord, and he elected to proceed with the surgery.

In the fall of 1909, the family moved to Ramsey (near Biloxi) and then to Lucedale, Donavant, Shipman, Agricola, wherever Bud's work took them.

In 1914, Bud, Isabel and Lucinda moved to Turnerville. Lula and Hiram had already moved there because of timber and turpentine jobs. They told Bud that he could get work there, which he did.
