Three Lundy brothers emigrated to the U.S. from County Sligo, Ireland, somewhere around 1900. One brother was named Patrick (my great-grandfather), and I beleive the other two were Martin and Thomas. There were some siblings left behind in Ireland, one of which was a woman who married a person with the last name Hegarty.
"Old Martin Lundy" probably born around 1890, lived up on Bogtown Rd. in Purdys, when I was a girl in the 60's and 70's. He had several children, Noonie (?real name), Geeter (?real name), Betty and Dick. I bleive there was an older girl named Margaret who died as a child/baby in a fire(?). Noonie died of accidental carbon monoxide poisoning - no children left behind. Geeter married Jean (?Rist) - I don't know if they had children. Betty had 1 child - Butchie (Anthony) Lundy born circa 1960. Dick Lundy, head of the Goldens Bridge Hounds for many years, had 3 children - Dick Lundy,a horse trainer, Marty Lundy, and Gary Lundy. All were likely born in the 1950's-early 1960's.
Thomas Lundy - no info known at this time.
Patrick Lundy - my great grandfather. Patrick married Bridget (Delia) O'Connor from County Roscommon (?). They had 4 children. Jimmy (James Joseph) - my grandfather. Uncle Eddie Aunt Winnie Uncle Harold.
Jimmy married Helen Appel. They had 8 children. Jimmy was a brick layer. Their children were: Winifred - died in infancy, likely SIDS death Jim (James Patrick) - my father. Born 1931. Charles Denis Albert (Zeke) Elaine Patrick (Pat) Irene Jimmy died in 1964 - complications of Rheumatic Heart Disease Helen Appel Lundy died ?(1992) - stroke, taken quickly.
Will update on the rest of the family in the future.
