Born to Marion Jackson Dozier and Gevnal Earnestine Hussey Dozier in Winona, TX. Three older sisters-Sybil Geneva Dozier Bolton, Pasty Ruth Dozier Ray, and Wanda June Dozier Dailey. One younger brother, Carrol Wayne Dozier. Jack Dozier's great-great grandfather and great-great grandmother Richard and Susan Lawrence of Mississippi arrived in Smith County about 1846 and settled on 263 acres west of present day Starrville on the Dallas-Shreveport road. Their children included Zachariah Washington Lawrence who married Emma C. Myrick. Their children included Mary Lawrence who married Anselm Nesbitt Davis. Their children included Ethel Davis who married Martin Luther (Buck) Dozier and their children were Ruth Dozier Johnson, Marion Jackson Dozier, Elwood Dozier and Rosemary Dozier Marsh. Family cemeteries include Starrville Cemetery and Harris Creek Cemetery. The Dozier's have a family reunion the last Saturday of Febuary at Elwood and Jewell Dozier's home in Winona. Jack Dozier does not have much information on the Dozier side of the family.
