The spadework was done by a cousin of my father's, on his mther's side, and therefore it was directed mainly at the 'Hall' side of the family, but included information on my Grandfather on the Lyall side. Her main finding was that the Hall name could be traced back to the 17th century.
I will sadly be the last of the 'Lyalls' as both my children are daughters who are now married. My father's Christian name (Alexander) and the family middle name from the Halls- 'Tudor' will live on through my grandson Alexander Tudor Bradford.
