I am researching my great-grandfather's family, Wilhelm Groncke. He worked at the Savoy Hotel in London from 1888 - 1914 in the wine cellars. He was married to Sopie Pohle and they had 4 children: William, Christina, Johanna and another daughter who passed away as a child. Christina and Johanna attended the Mary Dachler Girls School in London (I have a book of studies from this school, but can find no reference to it on the internet).

The Gronckes moved from England to California to Washington, D.C. and back to California where Wilhelm passed away. William then took his mother, Sophie, and his sisters to Washington, D.C. to live.

Christina and Johanna worked for the Haskell Service in Washington.

William passed away in 1977. His youngest daughter, Wilhelmina, is my mother.
