The Vernon Madsen Family Home PageUpdated February 8, 2001 | |
| Need help reaserching both sides of my family (Madsen/Thuesen) and filling in missing data going back to the 17th century. My father's family (Madsen) came from the island of Aero, south of the island of Fyn, where my great-grandfather Christen Pedersen Madsen owned a farm called Havrekoebbel. My grandmother was a Gregersen and came from a the north-west coast of the Danish penisula (Jutland). The family farm was called Engbjerggaard. The closest large town is Lemvig. My mother's family (Thuesen) still resides in Esbjerg (west coast of Jutland) and my father's family emigrated to Kimballton, in Shelby County, Iowa in the late 1800's and eventually to Solvang, California. Specific names are MADSEN, GREGERSEN, SORENSEN, KAASGAARD, CHRISTENSEN, JENSEN, PINHOLT, ROESDAL, JESPERSEN, PEDERSEN, NORBY, DAL, THUESEN, ENEVOLDSEN and HANSEN. A recent trip to Denmark produced a wealth of information. I will gladly share. |
