I started looking into my family tree out of curiosity and boredom.
I had injured my knee and I was told to rest it, just sitting on the sofa,day after day reading my books, was getting a bit boring.So one day when I was on the computer I looked up "family trees".I was really amazed at how much information there was, at first I ventured down all sorts of sites till I found the ones I felt at home with.
A lot of them were American based which was no good to me at all,
a lot of them required you to join them for a price.
You typed in your details, and they would come back and say that they had found a person with that name,in so many different catagories.It was like dangling a carrot hanging in front of the donkey.
The information they had, might not relate to my family and I would have spent money for nothing.
All the information I have collected on my family tree,except for the odd birth certificaite has been free.
So now I will continue my search on my maternal side.It centre's on three counties, starting with Derbyshire,Yorkshire, and Nottinghamshire. Though I have moved around, living in Worthing where my son was born.Then moving to London, where my daughter was born, We finally settled in Bedfordshire.
