The Manganellos of Ct.

About Our Family Research


The Manganello family ( or Mancaniello as it was originally spelled before arrival at Ellis Island ) comes from Cacerta,
Italy, a small farming town outside Naples.

The first generation in the United States began with the arrival
of Michael, who later brought over his betroved Annunciatta
( Nancy in english )Nicoletti. They later married and had 9 children,8 girls- Betty,Ida,Mary,Ann, Mille(Carmella),Antionette,
Margret, & Rose. They settled in East hartford,Ct. Their only son Anthony, married Lillian Dufault
of St.Leon;Quebec,Canada. Their first born was Joyce Nancy. Anthony & Lillian had five more children,all boys-Michael,Anthony,Leslie,Martin & Curtis.
Michael made history by winning the 1970 "Kentucky Derby".
Extended family names are Minneliao,Sharples,Buttner,Chomick,
Bojarski,Matzak & Beaulieu.
