The Mantheis' came to Texas in 1882 and the Hedtkes came a
long with the Mantheis.The Schmidts came in 1884.
The Mantheis' came from Grochlin area.What is how Poland.
Research is on going there.Not enough info.
The Schmidts' came from Gumbinnen area in East Prussia.I have
traced them back to 1721.I am still tring to find where Christian
was married and the birth place of his three kids that came over
on the ship.
They both came to Kurten area.I am related to most of the people
in the Kurten area.
I am also related to Hedtkes,Herzog and Geislers.
