The Manigat Family, descendants of Guillaume

Updated May 25, 2004

About Our Family Research

This is the genealogy tree of the Manigat Family, branch of Guillaume, which spans nine generations dating back to the 18th Century French Colonization of Haiti.

I started this bibliographic work in 1953 an work on it over the years on my free time. I was able to complete it after my retirement in October 2000 at the request of my daughters.

The genealogy tree of the family of Guillaume Manigat covers nine generations of men and women, some of whom have distinghished themselves in the history of Haiti as congressmen, generals, cabinet-ministers, ambassadors an professionals; among them one fouding member of the French colonial government, two presidential nominees, one president, and the first black women to head a religious order in Europe.

I believe that this work is not only relevant to my family, but olso to researchers and individuals interested in the history of Haiti or in genealogy.
