THE BURHOE KEMP AND FAMILY FAMILIES

Updated February 26, 2002

About Our Family Research

THIS IS A CONSTANTLY GROWING RECORD OF THE BURHOES (my mother's family), the KEMPS (my wife's family) and the MANNINGS (my Dad's family.)

The BURHOE FAMILY traces the descendants of John Burhoe (born on Guernsey Island in 1756), his wife, Jane Mellish Grotto Douglas (born in Nova Scotia in 1758 -This was her third marriage) and their six children all born in Charlottetown Prince Edward Island Canada. Some of the children and quite a few of their offspring migrated to Massachusetts. Descendants are now spread across the United States and Canada.

The KEMP FAMILY traces the descendants of Fred Kemp (born in Kingsley Falls Quebec Canada in 1875), his wife Gertrude Tracey (born in Schubenacadie Nova Scotia Canada in 1885) and their 11 children all born in Worcester MA. The children and offspring have spread across the United States. Some of Gertrude's ancestors have been traced back to 1725 in Scotland.

The MANNING FAMILY traces the descendants of Timothy Manning (born in Cock Ireland in 1803) and his second wife, Anna Newton (born in 1815.) They and their 10 children lived on a farm near Bolton Quebec Canada on the shores of Lake Memphremagog. This study concentrates on their 10th child Edward Manning (born 1857), his wife Flora Bullock (born 1857) and their 9 children who lived on the same farm. Of the five children who reached adulthood, Folsom stayed in Canada, Athol and Pearle moved to Newport VT and Nettie and Leslie moved to the Worcester MA area. Their offspring have spread across the United States and Canada.
