After a long break, I'm back and want to get started on this research. Much of what I know at this point is simply from family, and I'm hopeful I can find documents to pin down what is only rumor at this point.

For the moment, I'm concerned with finding out if a person on my mother's side (Georgia Ann McCollough or Macallough) is of Scottish descent. She was married to Charles Freeman Smith (b. 1849 in Arkansas, d. 1932 in Louisiana). I think she was the first of three wives he had.
