The Martin & Manning Families of Louisiana

About Our Family Research

I began as a hobby to research the family history of my husband because of Native American's that were to be in his family. I then begin to do research for my family. I found that we could trace one line all the way to the Crusades in England. The more I dig the more I begin to find out about both families. I knew so little of our family histories. In talking the the other family members I have found that no one really knows where we come from. The saddest part of this is that I have waited almost to late. I have no family left living past my parents and their siblings. My husband does have 4 aunts still living after this generation no one knows much. Death happend at quite an early age for the remaining aunts that they know so very little. Amazingly enough though I am able to trace some of the lines back quite a few generations. Anyone reading this that can fill in any blanks in the family genterations please email me and point me in the right direction.

The Manning line has a reunion the last Sunday in May at the Hattisburg, Mississippi Zoo. We have a covered dish dinner. If you are a decendant of this line please join us.
