I've traced my family tree back to my great-grandfather, Jonathan Manser b. 1833 in Brenchley, Kent, England, was married to Sarah Moseley b. 1841, of Capel, Kent. The 1881 Household Census, shows them living in Paddock Wood, Kent. It indicates they had 5 sons and 1 daughter, Minnie. However I believe there was another daughter, Kate who was not living with them at the time of the 1881 census. The 1901 Household Census shows daughters Kate & Minnie living with their mother, Sarah along with 2 other brothers that were born after the 1881 census.
My grandfather, George Manser b. 1868 in Brenchley, Kent, was married to Ada Burton b. 1873, of New Zealand. They appear to have met while both worked at the Metropole Hotel in Folkstone. Aorunf 1920, they moved to Toronto, Canada, along with my father Arthur Manser b. 1907, 4 other brothers & 1 sister, Kathleen, who died at age 9, shortly after arriving in Canada.
