In 1993 my first Granddaughter, Bryttaney Hope, was born very early (22 weeks), and looking for answers as to why this happened, I asked my parents if there was a history of premature births in our family. This little step turned into a very interesting hobby. Also, about this time my sister-in-law, Val, started searching for her biological family. As I watched her struggle to find her answers I became very thankful for my family and for my heritage. My Paternal Great Grandparents came to this country in 1900 from Rosenberg, Russia. They lived for a short time in Winnipeg, Canada, then they moved to Colorado. They settled in my home town of Sugar City, Colorado in 1903. What courage it took for them to leave their home land, with 6 children in tow and very little money, and to head for a foreign country. Thank God they did! My Maternal Grandparents were both born in Texas but their families are from Alabama. I have just started on this side of my family and I have found a Great Uncle Tharp and my grandpa's Saint side in Alabama. How exciting to find family I knew nothing about. Now, in the year 2006, I have learned that there is no reason as to why Brytt was born so early only that she is a miracle of God and I hope I live long enough to see what plans he has in store for her. So I feel I owe it to that same Granddaughter to find out as much as I can for her and some day her babies. Thank you Bryttaney, for making Grandma find out who we are!
