NANCY MANES CUBA/FRANCE

Updated May 16, 2008

About Our Family Research

My family came to the United States from Cuba as political exiles in 1959. My father Arcadio Manes was a Chief of the National Police in Santo Domingo, Las Villas at the time when Batista was overthrown.
Even thought we tried to keep in touch with my relatives in the island, after so many years,it became harder because of the nature of the Cuban government.
My father had told me about his grand-father and his brother, who immigrated from France and settled in the area of Jacan, Matanzas, Cuba and never left the country. There is no access to records in Cuba.
I am the mother of four daughters, our first generation in this great country. I would like to leave information to them, so they know their roots and are proud of them.
