Having been born of goodly parents, I always had a keen interest in my family and family history. I did not like the stoic lessions from school history, but was interested in the way of life that brought my kin to where we are today and gave me hope for the direction I was leading my children and grandchildren towards. I begain serious family history tracing about 1976 and have been a pest to some ever since. I find it exciting to learn not only the dates and places of my kin but who they were (farmers, lawmen, cement masons, and a reported cattle rustler or two ect.). I have been blessed with children that now share that love for adventure in finding out who we are and what quirks we picked up from what great uncle or greatgreat grandmother. The Manning surname has first found in the Norse land in 1325 in Randoulph De Manning and through England and the USA. There are reports that the Manning name originated with the 35th King of Ulster Ireland. I can get to Randoulph but the King and I haven't crossed paths yet. I hope that all who read this page get "hooked" on finding out who they are and join the fastest and greatest growing "hobby" in the world. A word of caution "don't let the bad apples you may find in your history scare you away, we all have some skeletons, get them out of the closet, they are still part of a long line of people that had your name. You will find many more good people than the one or two cattle rustler. Happy hunting.
