I have been researching my family, on both sides for about 5 years. Thankfully, most of it has been easy. There are lots of family members that LOVE to share their stories.
On my mother's side, I have been able to research back to 6 generations, while they still lived in Poland. My father's side has been much more difficult. There aren't many left alive with first-hand knowledge of who's who.
Mapes is my married name. My father's name was Norman E MAXSON (b-3-17-1942/d-5-17-1978). He was born in Riverside CA after his parents moved from NY due to his mother's health. His father was Elmer Cyril MAXSON (b-1-28-1899/d-1-2-1976)and his mother was Lulu Mina HOLLIS (b-4-8-1908/d-2-22-1948). They were married in Gilbertsville, NY. Lulu's mother was Lulu Pearl DAVIS. She married John L Hollis. Other than that, I have no other information.
My mother's name is Patricia Mary GORECKI (b-9-6-1942). Her mother is Genevieve ZNAMIEROWSKI and her father was Matthew GORECKI (d-8-1985). Genevieve's mother was Anna HUTA (d-4-1972) and her father was William ZNAMIEROWSKI.
