Ancestors of Beverley Marshburn, Onslow County, NC Updated January 26, 2010
About Our Family Research
Apparently, my family has called the same piece of earth "home" for hundreds of years now. Onslow County is a coastal county in Southern North Carolina. The port city of Wilmington (in New Hanover County) is just south of Jacksonville, the county seat. Mashbourne, Costen, Hansley, Swinson, Jenkins, Davis and Shepard are some of the names of Onslow County residents of the early 1700s and 1800s (maybe earlier). I always said the salt air was in my blood!

Much of my information has come from my family directly. I have pictures and Bible entries and have visited some grave sites.
The Marshburn family gets together in June of each year while the Swinson side has an annual 4th of July reunion. Both reunions are held in Onslow County.
