Updated September 5, 2000

I researching maternal side Nelson Thurman Knight/Hattie Bell Ray family of Grays Harbor, Washington. The Knights came to WA via RI, Western NY, PN, Michigan. Names included in ancestry are Andrews, Stockwell, Frasier, Fuller, Round, Arnold, Cole, Bennett and Rogers. I AM ESPECIALLY INTERESTED IN THEIR NEW YORK HISTORY IN THE LATE 1700s AND EARLY 1800s.
Names in the Ray family line include White and Newell from Tenn. and Illinois, Jordan, Bentch, Teague and Taylor. The family came to Washington from Kansas in a covered wagon and spent time in Indiana, Iowa and Ohio prior to that. SPECIAL INTEREST IN THE WHITE/NEWELL LINE AND MOSES RAY BORN IN EARLY/MID 1700s.
Paternal heritage JOHN MASON/MARY CARGILL of TX/TN and JESSE REAGAN (REGAN)/RUTH BARNES OF TN. JESSE DECENDANT OF CIVIL WAR VETERAN CHARLES REGAN OF TN. 3 REGAN BROTHERS SAID TO HAVE COME FROM IRELAND PRIOR TO REVOLUTIONARY WAR.
