Researching the family and decendents of Ephraim Matthews who came from Vermont to Canton, NY about 1800-1806. He was married to Sally and had two sons John, and James and two daughters Polly and Sally. They settled in the Russell, Pierrepont area and have been here ever since. One source has our origins in Ireland, then Vermont then New York. Other names include: Hosford, Page, Knox, Crandall, Allen, Reed, Marsh, Moore, Lobdell, Preston, Cole and more.
