Researching Mattix/Mattox, originally Maddux, Bradford, DeGraffenried, Allen, Apperson, Myers, McLaughlin, Patterson, Wren, Quintana.Nataniel Maddux and 4 brothers arrived in Va. from Wales in early 1700's. Christopher Mattox married (1)Mary Patterson (2) Christina Hinds in Bourbon Co., Kentucky. He moved his family to Delaware Co., Ohio in approx. 1803. Children of Christopher moved on to Indiana, Illinois, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Texas.
Apperson and DeGraffenreid were in Mo. in late 1800's from the east,possibly Tennessee.
Myers surname is difficult to research. My grandfather was Arthur Patterson Myers, Born to John D. Myers and Carrie Patterson Myers in Rayville, La. in 1891. Carrie Patterson was the daughter of Rev. John Frederick Patterson (Ms) and Martha Susanna Wren (Bienville Parish, La.).
