Clair W. Matz, Sr. was the son of Milton Alexander Matz son of
Christian Fritz Matz. Christian's father was one of three brothers who emigrated together from Germany to Pennsylvania.
One brother settled in Allentown, PA. The other two settled in Lancaster Co., PA & one eventually had a farm in the area of Fritztown, Berks Co., PA from whom this family is descended.
